Image

Mother's Day special

Today is celebrated as Mothers day, a very special day for all mothers all over the world. Everyone shows their love and gratitude to their and other mothers by posting photos, writing something nice about mothers as well as buying gifts. I would like to dedicate this post to the dedicated mother of an autistic child. This mother is very special to me as she's my little sister. Recently, I got an opportunity to stay with her and got chance to observe the life of a mother whose child has special needs. Yes ...I correctly understood what are special needs of an autistic child. This was an eye opening visit to understand efforts she was taking to make everything needed for her son. Children with autism experience the world differently from most people they often have difficulty expressing themselves sensory issues can affect how they smell hear or see things.  Bringing up a child with autism is challenging for mothers especially when most of other people do not un...

Istanbul Diary

Image
Turkey as a holiday destination was always on my favorite list. This year in summer we got chance to visit Istanbul and Antalya. Istanbul, historically the most important city of Turkey, is an incredibly exciting and happening and one of the most inspiring cities we have been visited so far. It is a home of breathtaking architecture, culture, delicious food and the warmest as well as the most genuinely hospitable people we have ever met in Europe. We visited Istanbul in August, pretty hot, humid and most busiest time of the year Istanbul is the economic, financial and cultural capital of Turkey, located on both sides of the Bosphorus, it is geographically interesting as it straddles two continents. The western half of the city is situated in Europe while the eastern half is located in Asia. Isn’t it incredible to experience that you can cross the continent in 10 mins by walk over bridge or ferry? However don’t worry, you don’t need to cross continent daily as most of the city...

Story of a Stone Heart

Story of a Stone Heart   Once upon a time a construction work was going on and workers were building a stone wall around a garden. Many visitors used to visit the garden. They used to roam about motivated by different moods. Some were romantic couples and some with broken hearts were pondering about nothing in particular. One broken heart was lost in the garden and could not be found. In the morning construction workers started picking stones and were raising the wall. The lost heart got buried inside the wall with the stones. When the broken heart found itself amid the stones it started chatting trying to befriend the stones. As all of them were stones they ignored the voice of the heart and treated it like another piece of stone. It took a while for the heart to realize that it is now buried with other stones and it has only one choice left that it should change itself. And now broken heart turned itself into a stone. These days visitors enjoy the beautiful view of a pe...

Story of a lost phone

Story of a lost phone  Motherhood is full of stories. Mine is too. I have lots of stories. Today, I remembered one very strongly. This was then when my son was 7 year old and was in Primary school. He needed to travel with the train for quite a long distance for his age. For first few months, I accompanied him, but later due to my work, it was not possible for me to pick him from the school every day. We decided to buy one phone for him so that I can guide him while traveling alone. He was very happy that he was going to get a phone and he is finally big boy. There was lot of discussion about what type of phone should be given to school going kid. His expectation was to buy a new trendy kids phone, but finally a compromise was struck between us and we agreed to buy a phone with bigger screen and buttons. He was very happy to carry phone that day to school. In the school, it was a very exciting day. He showed his new phone to everyone and was playing with it all the time. That ...
